Both tools answer the same need, meeting digital accessibility obligations, but not in the same way. The right choice depends on what you are after: an overlay installed on the site, or a regular measurement of its actual state with the documentation that goes with it. If your obligation is European, the European Accessibility Act targets the sales service, so your checkout and your customer account, not just your shop window. That is the scope Inclaria analyses, and it is the criterion to weigh against UserWay as against any other tool.
One point we repeat everywhere: no automated tool makes a site compliant, and Inclaria does not claim to. An engine detects a portion of the criteria, roughly a third, and the rest requires human judgement. Can Inclaria replace UserWay?
They do different jobs. UserWay adds an overlay to the site to alter how it renders; Inclaria installs nothing and measures the site's actual state, page by page, then tracks how it changes. If you want to know where you stand and document it, Inclaria answers that. If you want to change the display without touching the code, that is not what Inclaria does.
Is an accessibility overlay enough to be compliant?
No, and that is not our opinion but a regulator's: in 2025 the US Federal Trade Commission barred claims that an automated product makes any website WCAG-compliant, or ensures that compliance over time, without evidence to support it. The rule applies to every automated tool, ours included. Compliance is demonstrated by an audit that includes human testing.
Why charge per page rather than per visit?
Because the legal obligation is about pages, not visitors. Two 200-page sites require the same remediation work whether one gets a thousand visits a month and the other a million. Traffic-based pricing charges for commercial success; page-based pricing charges for the scope actually analysed.
