Directive 2016/2102 (public sector)
The European directive on the accessibility of public sector websites and apps, predating the EAA.
Directive (EU) 2016/2102 requires the accessibility of public sector websites and mobile apps. It was transposed in each member state before the EAA arrived.
The EAA extends a comparable logic to the private sector for many consumer products and services. Both texts rely on the same technical basis, the EN 301 549 standard.
