Wix

Wix generates a sound technical structure and ships a built-in accessibility assistant. The editor's visual freedom remains total: that is where the gaps happen.

On Wix you do not touch the code: the platform generates the markup and maintains its base. Your room for manoeuvre, and therefore your responsibility, concentrates on what the editor lets you decide: colours, text, images, animations and content order.

What the platform brings

• A built-in accessibility assistant that reviews the site and flags missing text alternatives or heading order to revisit.
• A generated structure that handles for you the technical foundations often broken elsewhere.
• An alt text field per image, directly in the editor.

What stays in your hands

• Contrast: total freedom over colours and fonts makes barely readable text the most common defect of visually built sites.
• Animations and carousels: nice in a demo, they must remain keyboard operable and must not scroll out of control.
• Heading hierarchy: the editor lets you pick a heading style for its size; the logical outline of the page suffers.
• Text alternatives: the field exists, it still needs a useful description rather than a file name.

An honest note about our data

Our 2026 panels, focused on established French e-commerce, contained no Wix site: we therefore publish no statistic specific to this platform. A scan remains the way to place your own site, in seconds and with nothing to install.
