Success criterion
A testable WCAG requirement. Each criterion describes a verifiable condition, passed or failed, at level A, AA or AAA.
A success criterion is the basic unit of WCAG. It states a precise, testable requirement, for example that every informative image has a text alternative.
An accessibility audit checks each applicable criterion and classifies gaps by severity, in order to prioritise fixes.
